He learns songs for wedding ceremonies by hearing them and then creates entirely new arrangements for the songs. Since Tanner does not read music, his arrangements are not bound to the page as it is for musicians who only rely on sheet music. Tanner generates musical experiences that last only a moment in time as he never performs the same song the same way twice.
